Hello! My name is Ms. Linda Staton and I am delighted to be teaching 5th grade science and social studies at Miramar Ranch this year. I am working with your child’s language arts teacher (Mrs. Custer) and math teacher (Mrs. Tanghal) to ensure every student has a successful year.

Every student will need a spiral-bound notebook just for our classwork. It should be brought to school every day, Monday through Friday, along with the school-provided planner. Students are responsible for taking care of their notebook and will be required to replace it if it gets lost or destroyed. Students are expected to bring at least 2 good pencils to use in class every day.
I hope that many parents will enjoy volunteering this year, such as helping with our Solar Oven Luncheon, Halloween Carnival basket and/or Haunted House, driving for our Star of India field trip, or assisting with the Jog-a-thon and other great fundraisers, etc.
And, of course, we can always use some help with Art Corps and Super Science! Please go to SignUp Genius to see what is needed!
If you’re unable to join us, perhaps you could donate items for students to use in the classroom, such as boxes of tissues, or photocopy paper.
I am excited to be working with your child to help guide their learning, and make this year a very positive educational experience! We have a lot of challenging work ahead of us, and I hope that each child will make the effort to participate every day, complete their assignments, and do their best at all times.
Our motto is “Work hard and be nice!”
Sincerely,
Ms. Staton
